Default An old newb w/new S4 coming soon!

Hi all. I haven't been in on AudiWorld for years but am getting back into the fold. The reason? I'm picking up a new S4 in the next day or so and can hardly wait! So much has changed since I owned an '06 B7 S4. After test driving a few cars, including some competition like the CLA45 AMG, I decided to stick with Audi. Looking forward to learning about my car with knowledgeable folks like you. Thanks in advance!

Welcome back!

BTW, I noticed that you had 3 6MT's. What made you switch to DSG?

Thanks! Honestly I got tired of driving stick, especially in traffic. I learned to really like having a twin clutch tranny like DSG but never had the privilege of having this with a more powerful car like the newer generation S4 or other. When I test drove a couple I instantly loved it because I could finally "feel" the inherent advantages of this when there is power and grunt under the hood. My little A3 sportback with only 200hp doesn't quite cut it, lol. I was seriously impressed with how quick the shifts are and love the blips when downshifting in this car. I just personally think it's the best of both worlds considering I drive in "manual" mode with DSG but just don't need to worry about having the third pedal anymore.

Had a B6 S4 with a 335i in between my last 2 B8 S4s. The B6/B7 s4s were basically the same car. The B8 S4 is so much different and better than the B7 S4 . Your going to love and appreciate the differences. Welcome back!

Yeah just a couple of relatively short test drives in the B8 S4 told me a lot about how different this car really is from previous generations. I had always heard good things about the supercharged V6 and know the reviews overall had been solid. I should be picking up my new S4 this evening and can't wait! I know I'm gonna enjoy it for sure

I only took a few low quality pics on my phone when I picked up the car. It looks nice in person though! I'm loving the new ride!

It doesn't come with brushed aluminium side mirrors when you get it in white?
