P013900 - O2 Sensor Circ., Bank1-Sensor2 Slow response
Hi,
I've been trying to find where bank1 sensor 2 is on a 2012 S4 but not having any luck. From gathering all the sources seems like bank1 is on the passenger side and sensor 2 is post cat? Is this a DIY project? My online experience working around the engine is changing oil, replacing spark plugs and installing an air intake. I also heard that since it's a post cat (sensor 2) it doesn't affect the MPG and it it's only there to pass emission tests. Can I continue to drive the car for a few days until I get to a mechanic (no openings yet) or until I'm able to resolve it with everyone's help.

Just unplug the sensor, start the car, and see which one throws codes in the VAG COM. It will make it freak out so don't actually drive the car with the sensor unplugged.
Sensor 2 is located post cat and is only used for catalyst aging, not engine management. You can safely drive the car.
