Default Still Looking for a B8 S4 to call my own

So to that end I have been doing a few test drives. Makes me fall in love with the car that much more every time I get behind the wheel.

But enough sentiment...

Specific question - One S4 I was test driving, a 2012 to be specific, coming on to the highway, (manual) transmission in 3rd I gave it a lot of gas. It started to take off like a shot, of course, however about 1.5 - 2 seconds after doing that, at about 50mph the power suddenly disappeared, like I had taken my foot off the gas. No warning lights or noises or anything. I got off the gas and got going again without a problem. However, just wondering with me and my big feet if it was possible I caught the edge of the brake pedal as I gradually pushed the gas down? Given the standard pedal heights, is that possible? 'Cause other than that, I like this one. Black with black and tan interior.

More general, is there a link somewhere about specific problem areas one should check on the B8 S4 when buying used?

You might have hit the rev limiter.

Stock tune dumps a good portion of the boost around 5K rpm's and above... Audi did this to limit this model to the supposed 333HP rating... Tune/pulley and it will continue to pull to redline and much harder...

Fuel will be cut off at 7200 rpms on the manual. It is a safety factor so you don't blow the engine. I've done it a few times and its easy to do if you are not paying attention WOT. No real problems or years to avoid. You want to make sure the car has a Sport dif. Buy a warranty if the car does not come with one.
