how do you check if the car has ever been modified or tuned (TD1 code)?

will a CPO ensure there is no TD1? probably going with a new leftover 2018 S3 if I can find a good deal but was considering CPO S3/S4/S5. I want a car that has never been touched (modified) and that is why I am leaning new.

When I was shopping around for a used S4, I called Audi USA Customer support & supplied them with the VIN. They can check it for you. I also found out that my vehicle came w/ the audicare pre-paid maintenance which was a pleasant surprise. You can also us the Chat function from the audiusa site which was convenient during non-office hours. I did this multiple times as well as request for the monroney sticker (window sticker) to confirm the options. If it's CPO'ed then it should not be TD1 flagged. However, I read of an instance where someone bought a CPO'ed Audi but later found out it was TD1'ed so I would check anyway. Good Luck!
