Water Pump Fail Roundup
 

With the summer travel season starting up I was starting to worry a bit about my water pump. It is hard to tell how prevalent this problem is so I figured I'd do what the internet does best and post a poll! I did a quick search for polls and didn't find one so forgive me if this is a dupe.

For those of you who have had one fail can you post your build date?

(p.s. This is my first poll posting so I apologize if I somehow mess this up)

mine blew up a couple weeks back at about 9500-10000 miles

7,200 and still fine *crossing fingers*

4,500 miles when it went.

I think including the build date would be helpful in determining whether or not there is a correlation to specific batches. Mine is a 6/09 build date with 3700 miles -- no issues to date.

Oct/09 build date, 7300+ miles no probs :)

12500 km when the pump went.

April 2010 Build date...no problems...and I've had the oil temp all the way up to 245 degree's so far.

March, 2010 build, 2,320 miles, no problem. However, like several others have reported, I have noticed that my coolant is about 1/8 inch below min line when cold. I never checked level until a few weeks ago but it hasen't seemed to drop since so I'm assuming it came like that and will continue to moniter it.
