Based on my experience, the "in-depth inspection" is a joke and you are being charged over $600 for an oil change, brake fluid flush, and cabin filter change. Whenever I took my car to the dealer (a rarity), I would list the specific tasks, such as an oil change or brake fluid flush, and not ask for the open ended service that included fluff items that they could use to inflate the required labor time. I'm thinking that I may purchase Audicare for my B9 and then solely take it to an indy garage and do some of the maintenance myself once the warranty expires, which is what I did for my B8 to keep costs reasonable.

It appears Mobil has 7 different 0W20 oils for sale in the USA. None meet the VAG spec, which is needed to protect your engine warranty, Joe.

How is that possible? What's this mysterious VAG spec?

Well, I can hold some level of trust for my dealer.. And I'm out $70 for the oil I put in.. No biggie.. I think the big takeaway is that the green color may not always be indicative of the right oil..

Castrol has done green oil before, this isn't the first time. The earlier green oil (506.01?) didn't stay green very long once placed in service.

i concur.
When I was questioning my dealership based on the "color" of the fresh oil they put in my engine at the 10k OCI, it was pretty obvious that the green color disappeared very quickly once the engine was run.
It would seem that the color is only meant to be identified by the person putting it IN the engine!

I like that you sent that sample into Castrol.. That was hella sneaky!
