I've self diagnosed myself with Raynaud's Syndrome because my hands are always cold no matter what! Living up north in Canada, the heated steering wheel is a must... it boils down to 'function over form' for me.

Also, I hate to admit it, but I sometimes drive with my thumbs at 6 o'clock with my hands rested on my lap. I don't think I could do that with the flat bottom.

But I do wish Audi offered heated steering wheel for the flat bottom-- don't understand why they wouldn't.

I think flat-bottom steering in a street car is plain silly. It makes proper shuffling impossible--so very often I grabbed air when I reach the flat part.

I chose the flat bottom on my 2018 S4 that is currently sitting on a ship between Halifax and Germany. Currently have the flat on my S5 as well. Had a rental A4 on a recent business trip and it just felt different. Most likely because i was used to the flat and the round just felt thinner.

Any luck with this? I've also order the heated wheel but if the flat bottom one is thicker then i might want to get it changed!

I'm planning on asking the Reggi Custom Steering Wheels guy to build me a heated flat bottomed steering wheel.

Flat bottomed...because that's what the dealer had ordered lol. But I've had it for a couple days now and love it. It feels so nice. Maybe I'll miss the head in the winter but oh well.

I'd contact Reggi Customs on facebook and see if he can make a flat bottomed heated wheel for you.

Although I love the flat bottom wheel in my GTI, I would hate to give up heat in the winter.

What really annoys me is, why can't Audi offer a heated flat bottomed steering wheel? That would solve the problem for me....

While it is a nice feature, I would rather wear gloves than to sacrifice that good-lookin' flat bottom steering wheel. Besides, another electric thingy is another head-ache waiting to happen.
