Anyone program homelink with a REALLY old garage door opener?
I have an old genie screw drive garage door opener from the 90's that predates the code hopping remotes (I know, if it isn't broke, don't fix it). It's so old you set the code by flipping a series of DIP switches to encode a binary key in both the motor and all the remotes. It worked fine with all my previous audi's including my 2013 S4. Unfortunately I can't seem to get it to program on my new car. I hold the remote under this rear view mirror like it suggests and no matter how long I hold the button or how many times I press the button, it doesn't register it. Nothing happens at all, just sits there telling me to push the button on the remote.
I tried setting the opener type in the options, and accidentally got into the code hopping remote, and now the car won't let me change that button out of that mode either. This is really frustrating.
