Respectfully: if you have to ask this question, don't do it.

If and when you finally drive the car hard enough that traction control is limiting you, you will know it: TC lights will be flashing like an xmas tree on your dashboard and you will feel the electronic nannies kick in and pull the throttle, (hopefully) preventing you from completely losing it and wrapping your S4 around a light pole.

If you've never done this, if you've never driven a car to the limit with traction control on, you should certainly not be trying to drive a car with traction control off.

It is in the owners manual - and in fact does make a difference. I've run 0-60 at 4.05 and 1/4 mile and 13.09.

absolutely L C does make a difference. It is in the manual and online how to use it. Love it but I use it sparingly to avoid tickets! 8 spd is very good trans.

The section in the manual related to launch control specifically says that it only applies to the DSG double clutch transmission on the A-series and not the 8-speed ZF8.

Yes I see that it says S Tronic now. Although using the info online such as Wires has posted by turning off Traction control and holding brake sure seems to give it more kick. Still I wouldn't make a habit of it as it does stress components etc.

Holding down the brake and building boost will help for sure, but I'm skeptical about how much turning off traction control helps.

We took delivery of our new 2018 S4 in December, premium plus with sport package and some other options, it does have summer tires and the car is very responsive and fast. This is our first Audi and we love it!
