Oh crap, my S5 was supposed to hit port tomorrow... Hope it won't impact my ability to actually get it... Although if it's a serious issue that does end up being more than a SW update, perhaps that's not a bad thing.

My S5 is scheduled to be built this week. Anyone know if this will stop production of existing orders for USA cars?

It looks like this is an article that was originally posted in Germany --- discussed in this thread. Apparently it only affects Germany sales.

Auto Motor und Sport reported this week that Audi have made an engine software change, which is why the S4/S5 has been suspended in Germany until late August:

Audi S4/S5 und A4 2.0 TFSI: Bestellstopp bis August 2017 - AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT

I have no idea whether this story is correct.

My S5 has a production date of 3017(30 week).
I am still being told that shipping will be August 4.
We will try and place our order for S4 early August so we shall see if they accept it.
So far the owners in waiting program hasn't told me otherwise.

I ordered an S5 in mid-May. Got an e mail from Audi that I am in the "Owners in Waiting Program", but no build date yet. Have a Comm # NV7384, but no news on that. If I can't get it until late in the year, I may as well wait and order an RS5 as that is what I currently drive and would prefer.

I just heard back from Audi Customer Service on the other board. He advised this was for cars sold in Germany. The USA cars are not affected.

Funny, I also reached out to him ... I bet lots of us did. Same response, we should be good in the US.

Nah, that's just a price fixing thing. It wouldnt cause the halt of vehicle sales.

Anyone know of an update to this? I'm not sure "we should be good in the US"...it's something we may want for the S4/S5.

"Audi claims the software upgrades are intended to smooth out the power delivery of the 260kW/500Nm engines in their Automatic and Comfort modes, while making them more responsive in Dynamic mode."

Sounds to me like they are addressing the lethargic complaints about the S4/S5 and the delay in response that are widely reported. The fix caused the mileage issue and forced the stop sale.

I'd like to know if this "fix" is coming to Canada...I'll take a hit to mileage to fix the delay. We should be screaming for this.
