Default Dipstick hole?!

I have a 2019 A8 right now in my driveway, on loan from the dealer for an extended test drive.

It has the same 3.0L engine as the B9 S4. Where the blip! is the oil dipstick hole? I know there is no oil dipsticks on these engines and I can buy an aftermarket one, but where oh hell is the actual hole?

Thanks!

The dipstick portal is toward the front of the engine. Close to the hood latch itself. On the B9 S4, it looks like a very small black plastic piece with a very tiny handle. I use pliers to pry it out, doesnt take much effort or strength.

Can't find it in my B9 S4 no matter how hard I looked.

Look at this video for a Touareg TDI. It's dimilar in the engine layout, and the dip stick tube with plug is shown in the video. So, look for something like that at the front of your engine.

ECS Tuning now has a dipstick available. I have no OCD and I love electronics, but there’s something reassuring about an honest to goodness dipstick.

Yes! My 2016 had under 10k miles when the low oil warning came on. IIRC, it said add one quart or something similar. So, I added about 1/2 a quart and the light went away only for it to come back after a few dozen miles. That's when I decided to get a dipstick and discovered I had overfilled by about 3/8" on the stick. Faulty sensor(s) of course but a dipstick would have prevented me from overfilling.

Found mine. It's under the plastic cover just like in the TDI video above.
