Distribution Hold

I just received an e-mail from my dealer. The car was released yesterday. Now the shipper just has to get it moving. Only have to go from one side of Houston to the other, so the time will be spent getting it on a truck and filling that truck. Heading out of town Monday so wont be able to pick it up until next weekend, but good to know the process is finally moving again. Never got a good explanation for the delay. Been nearly two weeks since it arrived. I find it difficult to believe that was customs, but who knows

While my car is still at the port, my CA learned that it is Audi of NA that is somewhat the cause for the hold. My dealer has had three S4's on their lot for several months. Accordingly, due to the existing non-moving inventory, my car has been on hold at the port. But has since received approval from the Audi DM and has been released for delivery to the store by August 1st.
Regardless of the stagnate inventory, I find it strange that Audi would hold a customer ordered vehicle. I've never had this issue with past vehicles (most being custom ordered). Perhaps I should've ordered an SQ5.
