Dynamic Engine Sound = Less fuel efficient?
Does anyone know if putting the engine sound in dynamic mode in the individual drive mode makes the car less "fuel efficient?" In other words, all other settings are set to comfort, but engine sound is on dynamic, would that give the same gas mileage as if you were in the comfort setting?
Thanks!
Thanks!

That question is like wearing a tuxedo T-Shirt. I want to sound mean, but I want to be frugal while I do it
Test it out and let us know. Do a tank in Dynamic and one in Comfort and see which comes in better.

The engine sound itself is controlled by actuating some flaps in the exhaust system. This alone will have zero impact on fuel economy (except insofar as it may tempt you to rev the engine more often to hear that sweet sweet sound).
However, placing the transmission in S mode will definitely have a negative impact on fuel economy: when in S mode the idle speed is raised from about 1700-1800 RPM up to about 2000 RPM and the shift points are raised as well. The engine stop/start feature is also disabled when the transmission is in S so that will hurt MPGs.
It is worth noting here that certain combinations of Drive Select settings will cause both transmission mode and exhaust tone to change together -- including Auto, Dynamic, and certain combinations of individual settings. For example with Drive Select in Auto, toggling the transmission between S and D will not only raise the shift points/idle speed/etc but will also open or close the exhaust valves -- but it is the former that affects MPGs, not the latter.
