Green foot on the accelerator icon?

Got on the car pretty hard in a passing maneuver and looked at the dash shortly thereafter. For the first time I saw an icon of a green shoe pressing what appears to be an accelerator, located under the "boost" gauge. It only stayed lit for a few seconds. Have not seen it before or since. Anyone know the meaning?

It’s a notice to reduce speed. The icon is suppose to represent a person lifting their foot from the gas. I see this a lot when the speed limit ahead drops down - the car lets you know in advance to slow down.

Predictive efficiency assist. Basically, it's telling you to ease-off the accelerator pedal (see attached page from manual).

Pffft. Crazy Germans. Green means go.

Thanks anyway.

I usually only see it when I'm coasting down a hill and already have my foot off of the accelerator.

LOL! Did you also notice the green battery symbol at the end of the gas consumption scale?

This can be turned off in MMI.

Or just drive with transmission in S. Efficiency doesn’t matter then and green foot thing never appears.

I thought that it was to prevent any harm to the turbo or engine. I saw it a few times while the engine was not yet at operating temp. Now I'll ignore it or find the way to turn it off.

If you scroll to the Driver Assistance screen on the dash, it can show you what its essentially warning you about. Usually speed, but also shows if you're coming up to an intersection (doesn't apply to all just some which is strange) or if a round about. Whats also weird is that when its warning about the speed, it doesnt actually show the MPH lol. Guess maybe cause I dont have the Driver Assistance package. But I guess it still kinda usefully to have

This is what I was told by my service advisor as well. From the GPS system it predetermines when the speed goes from one to a lower speed. For example when on the high way and the speed limit is 65 then goes to 55, the symbol comes up.

I just assumed it meant the battery was fully charged.

It means the regenerative charging system is putting electricity back into the battery

It really should have been red since it's a warning. Until I RTFM, I thought it was to save energy.

Lots of info in the manual :D

Manual, operators manual?

Wait...what? There's a manual?
