Keyless entry doesn't unlock most of the time
The KESSY keyless entry system on my 2016 VW GTI works flawlessly every single time. The 2021 S4 is a different story. Half the time, when I try to unlock the 2021 S4 without using the remote buttons and just touching the dimpled sensor location on the door handle, my S4 keeps locking the already locked doors instead of unlocking. What am I doing wrong? It's not a big deal, more of an annoyance.

Touch just the inside of the door handle first to trigger the unlock sensor, then when opening the door make sure nothing touches the outside segment that locks the door. I had similar problems initially and now I just use fingers and come down over the back of the handle to open; also helps to position your hand slightly towards the front of the car when doing this, again to avoid touching the locking sensor on the outside.

I had the same issue at first back when I got my RS5. As mentioned above, the unlock sensor is the inner surface of the door handle and the square sensor on the outside is for locking. You actually should just need to stick your hand in the door handle and it should unlock. You don't even have to touch it. That works most reliably for me on any car. This way it unlocks before I pull the handle.

Thank you all. I guess that’s why I have to RTFM! I just figured it would be similar mechanism as VW.
