Default New S4....yay! Accident in under 24 hours...boo!

Thrilled to finally get this. I was so close to pulling the trigger on cars that "almost" had everything I wanted. Or in the price range I wanted. This one popped up locally. Went, drove it, and waited a day. And it was too long. It sold. Come the following Monday, the buyer backed out, so I called it "meant to be." You can see the option sheet, it's got almost everything except driver assist. The only option I didn't want were the 19's. Even has some weird options that my last 2 A4 B9's didn't have (compass in the mirror for one).

One owner, local car. 10k miles. The only two things I did was to buy the wheel/tire insurance since I lug into NYC every day and I've blown a handful of tires, and pulled the summer tires for all seasons.

Need to make it louder now

So like any normal person would do, the next morning I stopped to grab a coffee before running weekend errands. Pulled into the lot, was about to get out of the car, and someone whipped into the spot next to me. And clipped my drivers door. Bent it almost all the way to the fender. Split the door seam. If you look at the pictures, when trying to close the door it actually was several inches out of line. Door wouldn't close at all. Car was flatbedded. Went to the shop today to check it out. Definitely need a new door and maybe fender.

Thankfully the guy stayed and was apologetic. I just got the police report and he's 100% at fault, I wasn't listed as a driver since my car was parked, and he was flagged as inattentive driving. No idea how long Ill be car-less, and I'm also going to find out how to go about filing a diminished value claim.

Congrats on the new S4!
LOVE the red interior.
I really wanted a silver w/red or gray w/red.
But my new 2018 black/black was too great of a deal to pass.
However, I've learned my lesson, I will NEVER buy a black color car ever again.

My sympathy for the damage.

I too was looking at UHP AS tires.
It came down to Mich A/S 3+ or the Pirelli P-Zero Plus, which it looks like you have.

I decided on the Michelin's, but the Pirellis have been rated as a better ride and quieter, so I hope I didn't make a bad choice.
The OEM summer S001's have some darn great grip. They ride ok for UHP summer tires, and they are a bit loud on concrete highways.

How do you like the Pirellis?
They look a bit odd in the photo as the sidewall cuts a big angle to get to the actual tread, as if Pirelli made the tread narrower than the actual width of the tire?
Or is that an optical illusion in the pictures as they also appear to have a very wide rim lip protection edge.

Wow, that is a weird accident. Hopefully they can fix it correctly.

What is the button on your door? I don't think I have that button, or maybe I do and just never noticed it. LOL

Beautiful ride, heart breaking news on the accident Hopefully they get her back to you quickly!

I believe the “button” is the key hole for the drivers door

Bad Luck!

Button on the door is the "passive" interior alarm defeat switch.

So if you lock your child in the car on a sweltering hot day, and set the alarm - pressing that button defeats the interior alarm sensors, and won't trip the alarm from movement inside the car.

Test it sometime!

I do not have that button on my P+ S4.

That's weird. It was standard in all P+ A4B9's from the release in '16.

It may have gone the way of the rear inclement weather lamps, dual grocery hooks, and "S" badged rear calipers.

I believe in 2018 they changed it so instead of a button if you press lock a second time on the remote withing 5 seconds of locking the car it turns off the passive feature.
