Hi all,

I bought my 2018 S4 new last September. I must say I HATE pre-sense. It has gone off only a handful of times and always for no apparent reason. I have done everything I can in MMI to minimize it. I will speak with the dealer tomorrow morning. Here are some examples:

1. today, backing out of my drive way onto an empty street (no cars, people or animals) pre-sense went ballistic. Please note I have backed out of this drive way every day since last September
2. Entering the 405S from University about six months ago, pre-sense went off when the light turned green on the on-ramp and I began to accelerate. This is a "2 cars per green" on-ramp, so I was almost re-ended by the car behind me when this happened.

I wish the car did not have this feature. Otherwise I live the car.

Has anyone successfully fully defeated the feature on the car?

Many others have come and gone (including a B5 S4 that I sold in 2003).

Mine had four falses in the first three weeks of ownership and Pre-sense is making it very hard for me to enjoy the car. AFAIK, it cannot be disabled, at least for now.

Go into menu, vehicle, driver assistance, and then you can turn off the pre sense warning feature.

Until you have to restart the car again. There is no "permanent" way to turn it off.
