I just heard back that the factory accepted my S4 order with a production week 36, which is the second week of September. Based on that information the current ETA is the 3rd week of October. I live in the sunbelt (Houston), and here is what I ended up going with.

Now the wait begins!

No, this build does not exist on any lot in the US. What makes it unusual is the fact that I am ordering the warm weather package and dynamic steering.

Gotcha. Warm weather has to be essential in Houston.

Yeah it is. Few cars on dealer lots here seem to stock it though, and opt for cold weather package instead.

Not sure how essential I'd ultimately consider it - the seats aren't cooled, they are ventilated. Does it feel good? Sure...but the a/c in the cars are awesome to begin with

What color interior?

My car sits out in the 95 degree sun all day, so yes ventilated seats make a difference. They only come in black, so I will tint the windows as much as I legally can.

BTW, for those currently in the market for an S4, I was able to get a 7% discount off MSRP, free window tinting and the $750 loyalty credit from Audi for already owning an Audi if I finance, or $500 if I pay cash.

I'll tell you what's essential to ME... coming back to my hot-a$$ed car today (94F here) and opening the door to those beautiful diamond-stitched leather seats. I fretted long and hard over that decision, and boy did I make the right choice. I LOVE those seats.
