Default Seat massage question

Is the seat massage supposed to default to off the next time the car is started, or does it remember the previous setting? I ask because I've turned them on a couple of times in the past, but yesterday on the way home from work I suddenly noticed the massage was on and I didn't activate it with the seat controls.. Once again this morning, it seemed to be on.. I went into the menu and set it to off -- but I'm wondering what the default action is.

Thanks,
Rick

Why would you turn it off for Pete's sake?

Sometimes mine will give the driver a lower back push without activating anything. But the seat massage function never turns itself on.....

My experience is that the massage turns itself off after 10 or 15 minutes. I've never had it turn on when the car starts, but then again I don't think it's ever been on when I shut the car off either. I'll try that the next time I get the chance. It does remember the previous massage settings though if I do re-activate it.

That's just the lumbar support "calibrating" after start up, mine usually about 4 to 5 minutes after.

If you have the easy entry selection on, then the lumbar and bolsters are completely aired out and refill after you get in and start the car, that could be what you are feeling. The massage function only operates for 10 minutes and then it automatically turns off.

I have easy entry turned off.. And the times that I have felt the seat move in the lumbar area have been after I had been driving for more than 10 minutes.. Do they readjust at times?

My lumbar support does the same thing, eases in to place several minutes after starting the car.

I found settings in ODB11 which allowed me to extend the default 5 min enabled interval - i verified that it can be doubled...
