Default Single or Double Tire Replacement

Just got my 2nd nail in 5 months, this time it's the front driver's side tire. No leaking and tire pressure is holding up fine. I'm going to have to get it replaced, however, I currently have 2,633 miles on the S4, can I get away with just replacing the affected tire or do I need to replace both front tires?

If you are already planning on buying a new tire, I would pull out the nail first (when at the tire shop already). Since it is not leaking now, there is a chance it did not go through the tire and will save you a replacement. Assuming it did go through, one tire would be fine since I cannot believe you would have worn the other three tires more than 1/32 with the low miles you have on them.

Agree with Heisnuts re. mileage not significant enough to warrant replacing both tyres on the same axle. What I may do is move the rears to the front axle, and use the new tyre on the rear along with the existing front passenger wheel/tyre. But even that is probably unnecessary.

If the nail is not too close to the edge, you could just get it plugged and patched from the inside for around $25-30 (involves remounting and rebalancing the tire). That is what they would do if you had a road hazard warranty.
