Default Steering Wheel Button Sporadic

Have any of you experienced the steering wheel button not functioning? I have mine set to change drive modes. In the last week or so, it hasn't always been working. I'll go into settings to check if it's still set to drive modes, which it is, and when I exit back out it's working just fine.

My steering wheel button works fine, although I use it only occasionally (I have it set to mute navigation).

I find the drive select toggles themselves often don't function, however, usually when I first start up the car. It is as if the MMI is overloaded and doesn't respond.

When the button isn't working for you, have you tried hitting the drive select toggles directly? Do they work?

I have this issue occasionally too. I also have my SW button set to change drive select modes. Happens, oh, let's call it 1 in every 20 to 30 times (so maybe once a month? -- maybe more because I don't change drive modes every day though?). Next time I start the car the button always works again, and the dedicated drive select change buttons below the HVAC console do continue to work when the steering wheel button stops.

I also occasionally see what rlove mentioned where certain buttons don't work until the car has fully "booted" for a few extra seconds after firing it up. Part of the quirks of driving a spaceship, I guess.

Mine intermittently won't change drive modes as well on my TT.....it's simply a software glitch, nothing physically wrong with your car.

Mine un-programs itself as well, the software on this car is rubbish to be honest, I've noticed a few other glitches as well with the way things work, or don't work

Hello all, I have mine to Drive Select.

Have had some issues only when I press the * button for too long.

The trick is to just give it a quick click.

I too have mine set for Drive Mode!

Not experienced anything overly delayed or concerning, but I definitely get issues with the radio keys --track up and down -- not responding occasionally.

Not a deal-breaker, but maybe a bit annoying.

Funny that so many people used the * button for a quicker change of the drive mode. I also use it for this and have noticed the button intermittently not working. Works the next time I start the car though, so no biggie.
