Well boys, it finally happened...
...after almost 18,000 miles I finally got hit while parked. Left the car outside last night and woke up to a cracked grill (couple different spots...upper left chrome area + a couple of the slats/blades). Noticed because a front parking sensor was beeping like hell: the one pictured in the photo popped right into the grill when I touched it to investigate so I'm guessing a bracket snapped.
Aside from that there seems to be zero damage: car drives fine, no weird smells, no puddles under the car, temps seem OK, and all the driver assist and other sensor-based stuff seems to work fine (aside from the one upset parking sensor). No apparent damage to the paint or the rather expensive clear bra covering it...thank jeebus.
Anyway, I love this car too much to not get it fixed, so...what do you guys think:

- stick with the factory silver slatted OEM grill?
- switch to OEM black optic grill?
- aftermarket grill? RS-style?

Just FYI OP. If you go for RS still. Speaking from my experience. Most of the aftermarket grill don't come with clip for your S4 badge. You gotta either glue or tape it on.
Also the crash beam on the chassis behind the stock grill is silver. You will need to a can of black spray paint to hide it well.

Of what I have found in a brief internet search so far, I like this look the best by far. Chrome surround to match the rest of the non-BO trim, but black honeycomb mesh. It's perfect...
...except I unfortunately I live in a front plate state, so bummer there (and I am extremely anti-tow-hook-mount) and this also includes no brackets for the front parking camera, which I have heard is a bear to aim.
Man, what to do...
No but getting my $500 deductible back sure would have paid for one. Lesson learned.

My condolences. If it makes you feel better, the same exact thing happened to my car last Friday, rear bumper crack and scratches fixed fot $350. I had a dash cam pulled from my last car but got lazy about installing it. Lesson learned.
