Default Counter that with my dealership ...

I dropped the car of at around 48k miles, requesting a full bumper-to-bumper inspection (with the car on a lift), particularly of known problem areas (and provided them with a list). I offered to pay for an hour or two of labor for such an inspection. I also was forthright abuot this being a "last call" on warranty repairs; an attempt to head off any pending issues prior to coverage running out. They cordially declined my offer to pay and performed the service for free (technically under the guise of a service visit). They inspected the car, and among other things found signs of a slight leak around the rear main seal, which I was unaware and wouldn't have looked for, and another near the rear diff (or tranny, or something). Both taken care of under Audi Advantage along with all the other items found.

That's one of the major problems with Audi in the US, as highlighted in an article on Audi in this week's Business Week International ... dealers are hit or miss. And it seems most miss.

Default And YOUR dealer is......?

Why are we sooooo apprehensive about NAMING actual dealers on this board? Good or bad I think that names should be named. JMO.

Default I've never been shy about promoting my dealer (in AZ) ... Scottsdale Audi North

The original Scottsdale Audi ("on McDowell", aka Scottsdale Audi South) has also always been mod-tollerant and outstanding to deal with ... I just haven't been to them since 2000 or so.

You can find positive remarks on my part about both dealerships over the years here. And having experienced dealers, from a sales and service perspective, in no less than three other markets since late 2000 only confirms how great the local dealers here are.

Default I seem to remember reading something in my owner's manual about the turbos...

being covered by the 8/80 federal emission equipment warranty... and in another document that they were covered to 7/70 by Audi (maybe for cars outside of the U.S.?)

Default My dealer is equally upstanding- - >

can you give me that list of "known problem areas"? My warranty is up in about 1500 miles...even though I am keeping the car (and I'll bet you will too!) and I'll continue with an aftermarket warranty, I'd like to get it overhauled like you did and my dealer is a joy to deal with!
