Default '00 S4 Transmission Noises
Can anyone suggest what may be causing a thud though the transmission of my S4 (24k miles) when engaging and disengaging the clutch. It appears as the drive is taken up or released and also sometimes when selecting gears. If I change very smoothly I can hide it, but on powerful changes a definate thud is felt.

I assume this is not normal (bought the S4 used). FYI the clutch does not appear to slip even under full power starts.

Most noticable then, but also 2/3 3/4 etc...

Default Engine mount might be fubared...
APR/AMS both make a replacement which helps in reducing that clunk.

Same thing happend to me, in my '01, dealer said it was a "rear engine to transmission mount"...
