Default 10K+ in parts, no car yet and waffling, thinking about new STI

Alright, i managed to get in on all the group buys and sales before christmas. I have not received my turbos yet from jason and my europrice stuff yet but i already have a BBK, bipipe, snub, pss9s, fueling kit, and will finish up the job with some vast products. I was doing the math last night and I am looking at $30K with car and mods. I know they are not the same car but for my needs there are similarites with the subie STI. Around 33 otd, full warranty, all wheel drive and liveable as a daily driver.(I would swap out the hideous wing) I STFAs and really cant get a clear answer if i should still pursue the B5S4 purchase. Need some friendly advice from the AW vets.

Default An Audi is an Audi, A Subie is a Subie. If you want a luxury sedan that is sick fast and...

competant on a track, drop the 30k on the S4. If you want a warrantied car thats also more reliable, and can sacrifice a quality finish, get the STi.

Personally, I think the S4 is just a very well rounded car. An STi probably has the potential to be faster in a straight line and on a track ...... but I drove one, and it felt cheap and uncivilized. <shrug>

Default A stage III S4 with suspension upgrades and a BBK should stomp the STI a new one.....

Now, if you plan to keep the STI stock and want a warranty, then you might have less headache with the STI. That being said, I've heard about a few STI owners who had a warranty denial based on "track" events (on a bone stock car).

If you will add mods to the STI you'll have no warranty anyway.

Have you driven a full stage III S4 yet?

If not, go drive a well sorted out version and you wonh't buy the STI.

Default Do you still have the cars in your sig?

If you do seems like you got everything covered. The beauty of the S4 is that it can do anything and everything for you while still having a great interior and looking great. If you got all those parts for the S4 go for it and let the modding begin.
