Default 16" Avus Rims on 2002 S4

I'm going for a winter drive next week and a friend has offered to loan me his 16" Avus rims w/Blizzaks. Question is, will they fit over the brakes on my 2002 S4?

What are 16" Avus rims? I didn't know they came in that size.

I'm guessing maybe from a UrS4. If so, they won't clear the calipers.

Default '95 and later UrS6 had them...

Default Porsche 993 Big Red's clear the 16 inch Avus wheels on our UrS4's

Not sure about the B5 S4 brakes though, no idea how those sizes compare.

D'oh! That's right...they were wider (sorry). In that case, they may clear.

Default No way. It's all about the "deep hat" on the UrS cars...

This photo shows how deep the offset is on the UrS cars. No other Audi had this kind of offset. This deep hat is what allows massive calipers under smallish rims. The problem isn't radial clearance, it's wheel spoke clearance. The above kit (314mm rotor) fits under the stock 16x8, ET40! I have the 323mm kit, which also fits under the same rim.

Anyway, you were correct the first time; there is no chance that wheel will just bolt-up over the S4 brakes.

Later,
