1st Service for a '00........dino?...Mobil 1?...0w-30w?...etc?...(m)
Seen a lot of posts during the last six months, or so, on this topic. Just wanted to get a few current opinions on the best way to go. Main questions:
- Did we ever determine whether the factory fill is syn. or dino?
- Assume that even with a '00 I should go with 0w-30w (assuming syn.)
- Should I wait until 12k - 15k to go synthetic?
- If syn.--anything better than Mobil 1?

for a2000 the book says 15w30, if you stay with that aand something breaks let audi fix it, thats what my service dept. said. I use mobile 1.

Re: What service book do YOU have? Mine says 5w30.
That's part of the stupidity related to this topic. Each dealer can and does put in whatever oil they want to. Mine = Castrol GTX 10w-40.
