2.7t running lean?
I know someone with an A6 2.7t and he thinks it's running lean. Other than checking for fault codes, is there a way to check into this? What blocks should I log?
and don't give me any wrong forum crap...it's the same engine, and you guys know more... |
Check 02 sensor voltages, the closer to 1.0V, the better.

Thanks

Mr. Piggie ran some VAG's on my car the other day, it was running lean and
the air flow was down to about 190 grams per second vs. about 240 and the mixture was lean about +3.9% (from what I recall - I'm just a noob).
He said the engine was trying to compensate for the reduction in air flow due to a MAF that was only running about 75% capacity. We put in a new MAF, reran the VAG's and the air flow went to 240 and the mixture went to -.8% WHOO HOO!!! THE CAR PULLS MUCH HARDER!!!! I don't know ANYTHING, but check the air flow in the VAG testing. |
Did you have DTC's for running lean? Sounds like dead or dying MAF
|
Check block 003 and see MAF reading and check 211 for spec'd and actual MAF reading
Could be dead/dying MAF
|
It was a dying MAF. HEY MINI-PIG!!! Do you run VAG's on your own car? I'd like to start doing .....
that but I might need some help deciphering the information.
I'm intellegent, just not with cars all that much. Interested in helping out an eager S4 beaver??? |
Yes I do and I would love to help ya out....
Just don't tell anyone else because I'm not a car whore like Mike-I only work on a few :p
Do you have a VAG-COM? |
You work on cars? :- )
|
Yesm's, but my family owns all of them :p
