Guys and Gals,

I ordered my MY01 Casablanca White S4 in March. I believe my dealer is not what you consider a "high volume" Audi dealer, but they are not weak in sales either (yes, one could call them midrange in sales). I was assured that my car is their first allotment for MY01 S4s, but yet they are still showing the car in "D" status as of today.

I have seen a myriad of people waiting for MY01 S4s indicating that their car is at such and such port, and yet I'm still in D status. I just returned from a business trip to Tampa and visited two dealerships there (one in Tampa and the other in St. Pete's). Both had cars at port due to arrive within the next 14 days. My dealer has been very patient with my once a week badgering and I believe is being totally honest with me. But the question remains, can anyone explain?

I would of course believe anyone who says they have seen one (with the ESP button and all). I put my money down in July 1999, order went in April in the first batch. First date was scheduled for May build. Still in production TODAY and scheduled at the dealers Augest 7th - one month late.

Well, I haven't actually seen mine yet - but my dealer assures me it is in port. He told me that the first batch will be released on June 30th...

Are they stalling to help clear the 'oo's? I have seen a dozen on lots around NE.
I had difficulty getting the salesman to produce data on the '01. He finally did when we wrote the order.

Mine is also supposedly at port in San Diego. It has been there for a few days. Another '01 S4 that was in the same batch showed up at the dealer yesterday.<p>yasa

My son's A4 and my S4 were ordered on 19 Apr. My son's A4 has been in D status for 5 weeks and my S4 has been in D for 3 weeks. We were hoping we'd have the A4 in 3 weeks, and the S4 in 5, but it looks like its going to be longer if your experience is any indication.

My dealer says Audi estimates 8 weeks+/- from order acceptance to delivery. He also says that by the time he gets a VIN, the last thing put on the car, the car could be half-way accross the ocean.

Waiting is a bear!

My dealer says he has already SOLD '01 Audi models, but no '01 S4s yet, although no reason not to.
