Default 2002 S-4 Upgrade (US Spec)

Hello All,

I'll try to keep this short. I am the tech advisor for the BMW E-30 M-3 SIG. I also own my own European Car repair shop. I know some of my customers are on this forum. I would like to hear some feedback from the users!!

Instead of the retailers!!!

I have a customer who is older (but agressive),he wants to upgrade his incoming 2002 S-4 to around 330-350HP. He would like to keep respectible driveability, and use pump gas, drive it in traffic etc. What can some of you reccomend from your experiences??

Default Chip, Exhaust, Downpipes, Forge/Bailey BPV, Shortshifter, Springs & Shocks or Coilovers,

and Stoptech or comparable brakes.

Good for about 345HP on pump gas, suspension is necessary for safety (IMHO) and the brakes are more optional (if he is NOT going to track the car then you can skip).

I would get a reinforced TBB as well.

Default APR has software for the 2002 putting 277hp to the wheels on 93 octane

exhaust and downpipes should make your customer happy.

http://www.goapr.com</a

Default X chip, filter, and downpipes will do that

might want to save the FMIC and K04s for later...

Default To reach that range...

You need more than just a chip...

...unless it's the GIAC X chip, which may put you in the ballpark.
Milltek turbo back exhaust would give you the extra torque and ponies, according to dyno tests conducted by our resident techie...and still give you the quiet everyday driveability he requests.

A combination of chip(take your pick from GIAC, APR, ABT), catback exhaust (Milltek, APR, Borla, Supersprint, MTM,etc..), and downpipes (APR, Milltek, Evo, and a few others), should put you in the 340-360hp range on pump gas. Dyno charts are hard to come by for this car with unique setups, so this is simply an educated guesstimate, but should be fairly accurate. Good luck

That's easy...any chip with an exhaust and/or downpipes.
