Try this on. My local dealer internet rep says he just got off the line with AOA regional rep and there are NO 2002 ( current body style) S4s at all for anybody, any dealer. All are 2001, even those just now going into production. Anybody know what the REAL truth is? Even though all the cars on the lot and on the boats have VINs 1A and the ones now in production are 2A?

i heard that a auto manufactor starts build of a car at a given date, not excatally like i.e. Jan 1st of a new year. but at a given point of the year, so they can have per say 2001 models being built in like 2001 feb. and and in 2001 march can be the new start date for the 2002's. i hope i cleared some things up. but thats how i understood the Audi Gen. Manager when discussing the 2003's.

Not none actually built in 2002, but none built in 2001 as a very short run MY2002.

The 2002 S4 (which is currently being produced) is no different than the 2001. In fact, we're calling them 2002s even though most car companies are still calling their cars 2001s.

Oh, and we're stopping production in a couple of weeks.
