Default My car is acting real funny....

I don't drive the car eveyday, so it sits for a while without being started. When I get in it and start it up, I take off (so it says in the manual) Im real easy on it, and when she's cold, the car hesitates real bad at low-low RPM. It feels like when a car is running out of gas. She also runs rich lately. I have the X-chip and exhaust. The hesitation I can't figure out. The running rich part, Im figuring that I have a boost leak somewhere. I still have OEM BPV and hoses. I inspected both TBB and BPV and can't visually see anything. What's your take, please? TIA

Default checked for DTCs? Bad gas?

I used to use Amoco (BP) religiously, but after getting the same effects you describe, I've been using Chevron and there has been less, if any, noticeable hesitation on start up. I've started to let the car sit for a couple of minutes (not a long time) when the temps are cold (50 and below).

I also had a bad EGT sensor. No CE light, just DTCs. Took me awhile to get the dealer to finally replace (picked up the car last night). But that can cause the car to run rich. I did feel as if the car was down on power, not boost, but throttle response and overall power.

Default The same thing happens in my car, on a cold start....

With my car at least, this happens usually on a cold day and during the first start of the day. Next time you start your car, wait for the RPM's to drop around 900. RPM's start at around 1100 on a cold start for me, but if you just let the car idle they quicly drop down. Try this out and let me know if it solves your problem. I just think you have to let the car warm up for 30sec-1min.

Default I plugged it into the VAG, no codes. There is a minor boost leak. As a result..

My buddy mentioned something about the fuel level too. I didn't quite understand him. But he said that if there is a boost leak, the car dosen't have enough air to fuel mixture so it's gonna result in richness. I thought about the bad gas, but I go to the same Sunoco all the time, and for arguments sake the the car run all the way till it said 0 miles.

Forgive me, the EGT sensor? What does it monitor?

Default exhaust gas temperatures

It's used to monitor heat coming out of the engine. I can't recall the numbers, but if the EGTs get to 1000 deg C, then the engine will run rich to pull it back to 940 or so.

You can monitor them in data block 112? somewhere around there.

I used to have that problem. I changed sparkplugs and hardly ever noticed it anymore.
