2nd gear is choppy between 2 -3 rpm

During WOT acceleration between 2 -3 rpm ,it feels a bit choppy , but when shifting into 3rd gear in the same RPM range, it is then buttery smooth. What is wrong?

You shouldn't be WOT at 2 - 3 rpm. ;)
