2nd Key Fob Not Working....
Initial key fob that I was using went out about a year ago and replacing the batteries did nothing. Today, the backup one stopped working and new batteries did not solve the problem either.
I tried reprogramming both of them with the following: Reprogramming Audi Switchblade without any success. How can I get them operating again? |
i have the same problem with a new fob. old one works, new one wont program.

Try clearing all the key slots by turning the ignition key on, locking the doors with key 2 then
hitting unlock 5 times. The horn will honk. Then try using the regular procedure to program the switchblades for slots 1 and 2. FWIW you can only program 4 slots.

That is not the reprogram technique I used. I followed the one in the manual. It worked, go figure.

Didn't think to check manual - will give that a shot!

Super easy. are you ready??
Stand next to car with the doors closed (locked or unlocked). Press the unlock or lock button. Now insert the key into lock and turn it. Either way, doesn't matter. I believe you have 5 seconds.
Worked for both my keys. I believe the dealer charges 1 hr to swap the battery and "reset" the key. I did batteries in both my remotes and resets in ~ 5 minutes. |
I just tried that and it did nothing...
any other suggestions?

Sorry. It worked for me.
