4.7k ohm resistor, same as 4.7 ohm resistor? need to use for airbag light
I went to radio shack and found 4.7k ohm 1/4W resistors. Are these the ones I need or is there such a resistor that doesn't have the "K" behind the 4.7?

As an electrical engineer, I feel pretty confident in saying that 4.7 ohm is different from 4.7kohm.
Resistors are color coded. 4.7 kilohms is 1000 times greater resistance than 4.7 ohms (it impedes current 1000 more).
The color code for 4.7 ohms is: yellow, violet, black.

Do you live near a university?
If so, just go into their electrical engineering building during the day, find a lab, and ask somebody there or else find the resistor drawers and just take one. They have all kinds.
Even a community college should have resistors.
