40K mile service - do i have to be at 40K to get service done?
I am at 32K and change right now and dont drive much. Out of warranty in Oct. I might get to 38K by then. question is, do you think the dealer should take me if I reach 38K in oct and try and squeeze in under the warranty expiration? Thanks for the thoughts...

i was in the same situation recently...
my 4 yr warranty is up tomorrow, and i have 34K on the clock. brought the car in, made a long list of things to be checked out.
i would make a stop into the dealer to do the 40K service, since its a major one....

they definitely should take you. with my A4 i did my 40k @ 22k miles
because my 3 year warranty was about to expire!

My situation is similar to yours. I called yesterday to have my 40K scheduled for next week...
the service manager told me it would not be a problem and that I can also schedule a visit in August to have the 50K service done before my warranty runs out on 9/11/05.
