Default 6-spd transmission linkage

My shifter linkage is extremely loose!! I replaced the snub mount with an APR branded unit and the ammount of engine movement decreased (no more bucking). How ever when applying/removing my foot from the accelerator my shifter **** travles app. 3/8" - 1/2" (front>back) as it did since i bought it. It is really getting bad; in the morning 2nd gear grinds briefly. Any ideas?

Default Could be bad motor mounts, tranny mounts, shifter rod bushings, or the shifter assembly could need

servicing.

Please let us know what mods and if the tranny and motor mounts are stock.

Default FWIW I have the same problem and my motor mounts are slightly shot and my tranny mounts probably are

too!

I have stock mounts and snub, with ASP tranny stabilizer bar.

Judging from how the shifter assembly is set up, your motor mounts and/or tranny mounts are probably gone.

How many miles on the car?

I have been busy with work so the repairs are slow...but other than the snub every thing is stock at 87k. >Symptom: when cruising at say 65mph and I up shifting into 5th, if I wait a few seconds after being in gear and then apply some throttle, I will occasionally get a bang from under the hood. >Symptom: After removing the shifter boot assembly i noticed that when acclerating hard/backing off throttle, the shifter linkage/shifter housing has noticible front-to-back movement (it bounces?).
