Default 63 in a 55 ticket this morning.... C'MON!!

Do we really have to be that ridiculous? I live out in farm country in Northern Illinois. I made a turn from a one lane road onto another one lane road (one lane each direction) and accelerated hard, a cop was the 4th car back at the light on the road that I turned onto, and he said he got me doing 63 past him. That means he's claiming I got from 0-60 in 4 car lengths. Is that right? He also almost gave me a ticket for not having a front plate. I got out of that by telling him I just got the car and have been watching ebay for a front plate holder. I'll never complain if I legitimately get caught SPEEDING, or doing some other stupid move, but for accelerating and going 8 over the limit, that's a bit much.

What's the most BS ticket you've got in your S4?

Default Where? I got a 38 in a 35 on a scooter from Officer John Hughes in Lake Forest, IL in 1990

Unreal, huh.

I guess I should have been staring at my speedo and not at the road.

I live in Northern IL. Where did you get the ticket?

I'd definitely fight it. Most judges will think the ticket is petty as well.

Default I'm guessing local. State cops aren't generally that big of A$$hats, but would have written the

no front plate for sure.

Default I live 2 miles from there! Unreal. Lake County Sheriffs are usually REALLY cool

Leslie and I (me driving) had a LC Sheriff pull up next to us at a light at 2am one night to show us the 95mph reading he got on us on a desolate 40 section on night. He rolled up next to us and said "Where's the fire?" No lights, nothing. Just pulled up next to us at a light holding the radar gun backwards to we could see the display.

I know TONS of LC Sheriffs. What was the officers name?

Default They'll write 42/43 in a 40 all day long on a few stretches of road around here (MEM).

Most people just pay it, but if you show up to court there's no doubt it'll be dropped, as the prosecutor realizes how ridiculous it is.
