Whatever the stealership sells should be fine - and you can negotiate the price down.

So you're buying a car from a private party? I never thought of a warranty in this circumstance.

Last time I got a warranty was for my wife's new Suburban in 2002.

they will try and sell you an aftermarket warranty in some cases

Or you can have a car dealer broker the deal for financing/warranty purposes - just a thought.

They might want a small fee, but might be worth the while to try.

My car was bought used in Texas, but was still under factory warranty. My Washington dealer sold me an extended warranty. If my factory warranty had run out they would have charged me more. So on the last week I bought. But they would have sold me one after the dead line.
