Default Actually, J.B. Weld's looking better all the time! (WARNING, LARGE IMAGES)

This is made of some sort of cast metal, maybe mostly/all aluminum, but too porous to weld well.

I'll try some "magic" aluminum brazing metal I bought at the state fair a few years back, first. It seems to bond very well to coke cans, etc!

But there is no pressure here, nor any structural stresses on the area of the hole, so even a cork plug would work! ;-)

BTW, I went back to the site and found the only piece of gravel sitting right where i landed, just the right size for that hole! APR's front engine stablizer would have probably saved me, only the engine pan, and one AC line attached to the engine, hit the ground. The front mount obviously gave enough to let the engine lower too much. No real damage to the AC line, just ripped some of the plastic sleeve off of it. But to look at the damage in place, you wonder how just that was hit, without any marks on any other stuff under the car!

If you had been walking that piece of gravel probably would have found its way into your shoe.

Default How much is a pan Jim? Used JB Weld on MotoX bikes in the past

for a quick fix but probably not good for the long run as it gets brittle with age.

Default I would be worried about possible small cracks now.

Another hit at all could cause major leaking.

I know you are the do-it-yourself guy. But the pan is like $140 right?

Pretty clean puncture, or I would not have considered it. But I'm buying a new one now, anyway!
