Advice wanted on intake modifications...
I'm looking for ways to improve my S4's performance (aren't we all). I'm not a newbie by any means and fully understand the chip, downpipes, cat-back exhaust issues but I haven't heard alot about intake mods. I read Don's summary of how valuable a K&N filter is (not so much), but I'm wondering if anyone else has done different mods on the intake side with any benefits.

Had this on my A4 1.8T
I installed it when I was running out on the Salt Flats last year and it seemed to make a difference. I got mine from Clark Turner of Turbo5.
I don't know how it would do on an S4 - there's just so much more heat under the hood!

https://www.audiworld.com/news/00/130club/index.html

The word of the day is NO..
You'll be sucking in hot engine bay air, it'll **** the turbos off, over work the intercoolers and cause your timing to be retarded.. My advice is go with the S-FLO from AWE if you want a conical filter..

I personally see no point in changing the air filter..
But the s-flo mounts in the stock airbox, so it maintains the fresh air properties of the stock system. Zaph has one in and is a fan of it, supposedly conical filters smooth flow so the MAF isn't reading turbulent air. It's your call, but I'm sure you won't lose power with the s-flo, you may even gain it. Anythink else you'd most likely loose power...
