AHHH I am going crazy...

I am trying to put together and rs6 brake kit on my s4.. Will the rotors clear the spindle, and will the caliper bolt up? I Know the spindels are different, but what is the main difference. can anyone shed some light???

why? the rotors don't do a good job on the RS6 and the calipers are huge...

...not to mention that brake pad options suck something fierce.

But to answer your question, the hub to upright caliper pickup relationship may be different. From my experience most of the Audi stuff follows suit among the engine, so all 2.7t's had the same relationship, all 4.2's had the same relationship, etc.

So the caliper should bolt up just fine to the upright, but I doubt that the rotor will be properly centered in the caliper on your hub.

Only one way to find out for sure though...

It's hard to impress the neighbors with "Those are Stasis Alcon 6 pots!"...

but when you say "RS6 brakes", even the neighbor's wife get's a little weak in the knees!

Re: why? the rotors don't do a good job on the RS6 and the calipers are huge...

I know this... RS4 brakes will bolt on to the front of an S4.. I have them on my car now. I've read on rs246.com that the RS6 calipers will bolt on the RS4 using the RS4 rotors. RS6 rotors are bigger 365mm vs. 360mm for the RS4 so with some spacers they should fit..

i've seen rs4 brakes on an s4, but not rs6... did it work well?

i thought the rs6 brakes were kinda weak anyway.

but didn't he/she also purchase RS6 uprights as well?

I fully believe the caliper will bolt to the upright, i'm just skeptical that the RS6 rotor will be properly centered on the caliper using an S4 upright/hub.

ryans4 12-02-2005 08:56 AM

i don't think you can space an RS6 caliper radially...

I know for a fack that they use the same bearing and hub...just a different spindle.
