Am I crazy, considering buying a third car. Ideally a B5 S4 Avant ?
Been a long time Audi fan, some of you may have known my former B5 A4 which I loved to pieces but had to sell it back in 03.Car had extensive work done it, and I worked closely with Matrix Engineering throughout it's life...
Diverted slightly since then due to country movement and getting married...
Now in a pretty good place with life.
I have my wife in a 08 GTi as her daily driver(had her in a B6 A4 Avant for a while, but we sold it recently, never liked it), I've been scooting around on my work commute in a 3rd gen Mazda MX-5 which I have done a lot of work on - car is great fun and regularly usable in California due to the great weather we get...
I've always yearned for a super clean B5 Avant for years, and I'm wondering if now is the right time to pick up one. I consider them a classic and a true Audi with it's classic design and amazing Quattro and a true performance engine.
Having such a car would make my commute easier and more comfortable, with the bonus of a Avant bodystyle for looks and added space...
I would be looking for one with 100% free from accidents or fender benders, clean body - interior. Manual. And regular proper maintenance throughout it's life. Bonus if it has a Stasis suspension on it, K04's, and upgraded clutch - and naturally timing belt etc changed out...
Otherwise would like a completely stock one which only has love and attention to it throughout it's life...
I'm a picky buyer...
Any recommendations for a quality Avant for me ?
I'm in the Bay Area in NorCal, but willing to go pretty much anywhere for the right car subject to a very good inspection at a independent shop. Thanks guys.

You got a leg up since you know what to look for. Be patient and be prepared to fly across
the country to get one. They are out there, you just have to look. eBay, Cars.com, AW, and AZ forums are a good resource. I scouted over a year for mine. Aside from the TB job and doing K04s before my K03s blew, it's been problem free. You've already got two cars, so stick to your standards and you'll be rewarded!
