Someone mentioned that an amp can plug in to the S4's stock base stereo without a problem. Has anyone fitted one yet, or is at least planning to? If so, please LMK which you are using to that I can give the stereo shop clear info on this.

the unit has 4 line outs( LF, RF, LR, RR). so, you can plug whatever amp you want into it.
I have a McIntosh MC431 4*100 watt amp on auction at www.ebay.com right now. the soundquality will toast the Bose, depending what speakers you get.

Speaker up grades. Any one know what size speakers are in the S4 or A4. I am sure that MB quart will make speakers with oem fit. What about polk or MTX?

Not sure on siz, but MB Quarts are the way to go if you have the $
