AMS TBB install problems...
Went to install my new AMS TBB last night. Had replaced stock once before, so I've done this before.
I am having the damn hardest time getting the intercooler pipes to stay in! After a 40 minute car ride, I pop the hood, and they've slide out from (almost) flush about .5->.75 of an inch! Luck they didn't pop off altogether. Although I couldn't get them flush. Just the top, not the underside. Seems like I gotta tighten those clamps all the way, and they still don't hold.
What am I missing? Is it me not putting the pipes in totally flush all around? Do I have the clamps positioned too close to the lip of the boot?

It was tricky for me getting it in there too...
Didn't want to bend, etc. But I never had probs with the pipes staying in though? Maybe your clamps aren't really tightening?
This is the best close up of mine I could find:

Thanks for the post! I definately see differences from what you did...

But, perhaps more importantly, my clamps are definately closer to the edge then yours. The spacing (ie between the red lines) is less. Is that the problem? Clamps arent 'into' the rubber boot enough, so the pipes slide out til they catch on the clamps?

Seems strange that the spacing would be less?
Because that's where the indent in the end of the TBB is...the little slot for the clamps to sit in? It's not a defective tbb is it?

I wonder if you can get the clamps seperately. I have a samco with turbonetics clamps, but i'm not
real happy with them(they're a little too wide). I can't seem to find any thin constant-torque clamps like those.

I had to keep rolling things around to get the alignment just right or it wouldn't seal....

Try to put everything together but don't tighten any of the clamps. Get it aligned as much as possible then tighten the intercooler clamps first then the TB clamp last.
