Default another SPEC failure here...on behalf of a possible AW member here(I THINK).....

I believe the owner of the car posts here, I'm not sure, but regardless, I was pulling his motor tonight (thanks s4patrick and kurt btw)....and never planned on separating the tranny because he said he had a LWFW and a new clutch(spec 2 i think). so, when we were driving it, i told him it felt like the last ~20% of travel was very tough to follow through, but never paid it much mind. I wanted to pull the tranny though, since it was an early spec lwfw, which may have had dowel seat issues. i was just going to modify it so that they couldn't pop out. anyhow, this is what we found.....one of the 3 clutch fingers which stop at the center limiter ring was broken off completely as well as the entire 1/3 of the metal retainer holding it to the pressure plate! see the orange for what metal was missing and thrown about in the tranny and gouging it all up. nevertheless, he's furious and i doubt spec will even step up to help him. couldn't have happened to a nicer guy too..he just came home from fighting in iraq. i need to hunt down an rs4 clutch by saturday...can anyone help?

the orange markings you see on the right-center, indicate all of the missing metal from the pressure plate!!!!

Default Streetwerke had a bunch last time I was there - give Jason a buzz

That's a real bummer, poor guy . Maybe we should start an AW fund to buy him a new one, I'd donate $20 for the cause. Can't think of a better way to thank him than help him out with his car (well, I can, but that's just one way ).

SPEC should be put out of business for all of their failed products.
