Any experience with Kumho tires, MX or SPT????
I have michelin pilot sports on it right now, they are great tires imo, but pricey $178 from tirerack. Kumho are obviously cheaper and i've seen them get good reports, just wanted to see other people's experience's

I've got the Kumho MX's and
they're a great bang for the buck in dry weather, performing very well for an inexpensive tire BUT, they're not so great when it's wet and they are LOUD AS HELL.
The noise sounds like a bad bearing and sometimes like knobbies on an off-road tire. The noise alone is enough reason for me to never buy them again. For reference, the noise level on my past tires have always been acceptable (RE040, Pilot Sports, S02PP, S03PP). Other locals with the same tire have expressed their displeasure with the noise too.

Do a search, cliff notes inside on MX
Great dry grip
good wet grip
poor standing water channeling
soft sidewalls = decreased handling
I went from buying midranged priced tires (S-03s, F1GSD3) to the MX and had to go back to F1GSD3's after 5K miles b/c of handling and standing water characteristics.

Pilot Sports are one of the best tires out there overall
For performance and longevity.
Try the new Brigestone RE-01R. I've got 9 of them sitting in the garage now.
According to the test that Tire Rack and GRM did, they stack up very nicely vs the Falken 615 and Yoko Neova. They blew the MX out of the water and in stock size they're $139...

They must be really loud if they're louder than S-03s
Those things screamed like banshees for me! It wasn't until I got them off that I realized I had 2 bad rear wheel bearings!
