funkadelic did. not sure if he posted any impressions of them. do a search

silversleeper 08-28-2006 11:09 AM

Thanks, I only found two posts in the search, and was curious if there were any deals right now.

yeah, one of them was probably mine. didn't get much info either, except that

Brembo rotors should be interchangable w/ StopTech ones so if you can find a good deal on Brembo compatibles, you should be good to go.

We can't guarantee the performance of our system if that rotor is substituted...

I'll just leave it at that.

do you know of customers that have tried these and had issues? if so, it seems like you owe it to

your other customers to share this information.

if not, you don't have anything to add to this discussion except a little fear mongering because of a lower priced option to your replacement parts.

sorry, but that kind of post just ticks me off. when a vendor implies the inferiority of a competing product, but doesn't give any more details or facts.

LOL...Karma.

i don't track the car anymore, but they're running fine w/the RB rotors

i have the APR Stg 3 brakes, so i am using the APR hat on the racing brake rotors. my driver's side CV boot exploded soon after installing the new rotors and got grease all over the inside of the rotor -- it was a messy clean up but rotor is still doing fine.

i've took some photos comparing the two rotors side by side...same dimensions & weight, etc. i'll eventually put them online on funkadelic.org. i don't really think there's any drawback going w/the RB rotor but YMMV. Apparently this rotor ring can be used on Brembo brakes as well -- it's a universal size.

FWIW i still have my stock rotors that came w/the APR kit (same rotor as the ST kit AFAIK) and they have 31.6mm thickness left on them (i think it's 32mm brand new). i originally got the RB rotors since i thought i needed new rotors, without actually measuring the rotors before ordering them. if anyone is interested in buying the old rotors, drop me a line!
