Any tips on removing the radio?

you might have to push the HU IN a bit to get the catches to disengage
the catches move a LOT more than you might think, and if you are already pulling the HU OUT while you are tensioning the latches, they may be stuck.

the rubber seal around the radio glues itself to the surrounding opening
if the keys you have are in good shape and they are in all the way then you have to use a very small screwdriver and apply gentle pressure all the way around the radio to release the seal. then pull (really @#$% hard)
