Any tips on replacing an outer CV boot? Special tools needed?

some tips/instructions....
depending on rear or front, respectively, 14mm or 17mm socketed allen and a breaker bar and/or impact wrench, break that bolt free with the car on the ground....jack it all up, use a 10mm triple square bit to remove the inner cv joint from the flange, remove the control arm bolts to let the knuckle swing free and give some leeway to slip the halfshaft out.
remove the old boot/clamps with a thin screwdriver by prying the ears open. take a soft, heavy blow hammer to the back of the joint and knock it off (make sure you don't drop it on your foot...BTDT ).....then, clean out the old joint, replace the snap ring, and the washers *NOTE THEIR ORIENTATION********, after slipping on the new boot and small clamp, then regrease the joint by pressing the grease in w/your hands and working it in, put the new washers in, then the snap ring and tap the joint on and clamp the bigger clamp on the CV and then tighten it all back up and tighten the hub bolt when the car is on the ground.
